Hello
I have been waiting for this plugin - an RSS parser for WordPress using SimplePie - but I cannot get it to work on WordPress 2.3.1
Is it something to do with the WordPress editor adding paragraph tags before and after the code?
I used to be able to get rid of them and save, but they seem not to disappear.
Any help appreciated. Many thanks.

I’m not too up on my scripting. IS there something to add in the script to limit the line length, force a new line after x characters?
January 26th, 2008 at 8:29 pm
Wonderful plugin, I’ve been looking for something like this for a while. Many thanks.
I’m getting a [probably newbie] error:
Call to undefined function: set_feed_url() in [file path]QuickRSS.php on line 119
Other than uploading this plugin into the right directory and activating, are there any other requirements?
January 28th, 2008 at 5:09 am
Hi kevin,
i have throw this in QuickRSS.php
if(!class_exists(’SimplePie’)){
include(dirname(__FILE__).’/simplepie.php’);
}
if other plugin already include SimplePie class, QuickRSS will not include SimplePie Class.
it seems other SimplePie class has include by another plugin and maybe the old version.
sorry, for my bad english.

It doesn’t work for me.
It displays all commend as text so I understand WP doesn’t recognize it as a commend.
My WP version in 2.1.3.
Do you have any idea what can I do to make it work?
February 18th, 2008 at 9:18 am
hi Sebastian.
can i see your tags(pages or posts)?
it`s should works on WP 2.1.3 (try on 2.0.5 and 2.2.x).
Try to trim space at left and right feed url or install QuickRSS on your localhost and just activate this plugin (Deactivate all plugins).
If still cannot work, can i see the pages or posts?

I am using Wordpress 2.3.3
As soon as I activeted the plugin, there was an error:
“Warning: in_array() [function.in-array]: Wrong datatype for second argument in /blog/wordpress/wp-content/plugins/QuickRSS/QuickRSS.tinymce.code.php on line 18″
February 24th, 2008 at 4:13 am
Is there any way to get this to work in a sidebar.php that is included in every page rather than just a post?
February 26th, 2008 at 2:34 pm
Hi bernd.
You should save options first in Options->QuickRSS
Then select your role.
March 3rd, 2008 at 3:10 pm
I saw it in action, I tried it , it is wonderful! Congratulations.
Any chance I can embed the function (.i.e hardcode it) as opposed to using it as a plugin. Perhaps what I want to say is use it in a page (not fully familiar with website/php/html terminology yet…!

On installing, the last instruction says to Save Options.
But I am not sure which role to choose so that I can edit it, others can only ever view and click on the RSS feed.
It says “Only user with this role can use QuickRSS”, but what is the definition of the word use here?
Which role do I need to choose?
Thanks
March 30th, 2008 at 7:14 pm
Hi Angela.
Wordpress has 5 roles for login such as subscriber, contributor, author, editor, and administrator. If you have multiuser login like Wordpress MU and you want the editor can use QuickRSS, select administrator and editor. Or, select administrator for single user(usually). You can see your role in your profile page.
You can find more about the role(s) in wordpress site

Any help? I can get it to show the BBC example given, but not to show any FeedDigest.com, Feed43.com but the google calendar xml-link works.
A way to find errors would be very nice. Or am i just to fast on the update page? When inserting the links in the browser they work just fine.

Hello TheHave,
The QuickRSS plugin works great for Yahoo news search feed, but not so for Google news search feed (for Google, somehow the search function doesn’t work. Google only gives the general news feed results).
I tried KQF feed plugin before trying QuickRSS. KQF works for both Google and Yahoo. But it is a two step process to use KQF and it’s not as user friendly as QuickRSS.
I like google news feed because it gives more results. Is there a way to make Google news search feed work with QuickRSS plugin?
Thank you,
Sum

hi, colleen.
Since Wordpress 2.5, Wordpress doesn`t have text editor again.
Since now you must edit template.php and css file from your file manager at cpanel.
